Privacy notice

This notice covers the Upper Dealer control panel, the place where a dealership's staff manage their inventory, leads and website. Each dealership's public website has its own privacy notice for the people who browse it and write in; what a buyer sends through a website belongs to that dealership.

What we keep about you

Your name, your email address and a hash of your password (never the password itself). For security, the time, address and device of each sign-in and each sign-in code we email you, and a record of what was changed in the panel, by whom and when. The business data you enter (cars, photos, messages from buyers, team members, settings) belongs to the dealership you work for.

What we use it for

To run the panel and the website, to keep your account safe (sign-in codes, trusted devices, locks after repeated failures), to help when you or the dealership's owner ask for support, and to send the emails the service needs: sign-in codes, password links, invitations and new buyer inquiries. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

The dealership's owner and staff, according to their roles. Upper Dealer staff can open a dealership's account for support; every such session is announced in the panel and written to the dealership's activity log. The services that run Upper Dealer process data on our behalf: hosting and the database, email delivery, photo storage and error monitoring, all in the United States.

Cookies

The panel sets only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and, when you ask it to, to remember a device you trust. Nothing here is used for advertising or analytics, and no third party sets a cookie through the panel, so there is no cookie banner to click through. The Upper Dealer public page and the dealerships' websites set no cookies at all.

How long

While your account exists. The record of sign-ins and changes stays in the dealership's activity log, which the owner can ask us for at any time. When a dealership leaves Upper Dealer, its data is deleted at its request.
